Our Checks

During the assessment, the surveyor will thoroughly evaluate your property's suitability for various insulation options, including cavity wall, external wall, and loft insulation. This comprehensive assessment includes the following checks.

Damp Inspection

Identifying and addressing any existing damp issues is crucial before proceeding with insulation installation.

A damp survey is a specialised inspection conducted by a damp surveyor to identify potential moisture problems within a property. They are trained to detect suspect signs of three main types of dampness: condensation, rising damp, and penetrating damp.

The surveyor’s expertise allows them to not only distinguish between these damp issues but also identify any timber decay caused by dry rot or wet rot.

Ventilation assessment

A ventilation test verifies your building’s ventilation systems are properly configured and deliver airflow that meets established standards. This ensures optimal indoor air quality for occupants.

Verifying adequate ventilation is essential to prevent moisture buildup and maintain a healthy indoor environment.

Insulation Testing

Insulation testing is a prevalent technique used to assess and monitor the health of insulation within a system. This process allows users to: Continuously monitor insulation resistance (IR) using a line integrity monitoring device and Perform periodic tests with an insulation tester as needed.
By analysing IR readings, insulation testing can not only detect the presence of weaknesses in the insulation but also potentially identify the type of fault present, such as water ingress or localised weaknesses. This valuable information enables targeted repairs and helps to maintain the optimal performance and longevity of the insulated system.
